When the characters for the Sailor Moon series were created, the artists must have had Mihoshi in mind. She is ditziness incarnate; it's almost as if she were diberately created to be a mutation between Sailor Moon's clumsiness and Sean Kenniff's goofy demeanor. There's actually a reason for her having been created the dimwit that she is, as you'll soon find out.

Prior to her having met Tenchi, Mihoshi served in the Galaxy Police as a First-Class Detective. As a reward for her *cough* excellent *cough* administration skills, she's partnered up with Kiyone, a fellow officer whose talents are head and shoulders above Mihoshi's. Needless to say, the Kiyone is none too happy with the prospect of spending the next couple months having to babysit the most unreliable of partners. In the Tenchi TV series however, it turns out that the two of them do form the perfect team. While Mihoshi's stupidity is perpetually throwing the Tenchi gang into dangerous situations, Kiyone is covering for her =)

Despite the fact that she's someone who would not last a single tribal council in the game show Survivor, Mihoshi is a source of welcome comic relief and humour - something that is much appreciated in a series that is forever revolving around the love triangle between Ryoko, Ayeka and Tenchi. Idiocy aside, Mihoshi is a strong willed and loyal person who would do anything for Kiyone (although I'm sure the same cannot be said of Kiyone =)
